I’ve always wanted to fish, but never really tried. On this trip, staying at Port A RV Resort gave me the perfect chance.
Aransas Pass is famous for fishing, and with a little rented gear, I headed to the pier. The first time I cast, my line tangled, but locals laughed kindly and helped me fix it. By sunset, I had reeled in my first redfish—and I was hooked.
Back at the RV, I cooked the fillets with lemon, garlic, and butter in a cast iron skillet. Eating fish I caught myself, under the palms at the resort, felt like a rite of passage.
Now, fishing is part of my Port Aransas ritual. This RV resort gave me the best place to start.
